Reality Checks

Perform a reality check every hour during the day. Try to push your hand through a wall or check a digital clock twice. If you build the habit of questioning reality while awake, you will eventually do so in your dreams.

Mnemonic Induction (MILD)

Before falling asleep, repeat the mantra: "The next time I am dreaming, I will remember that I am dreaming." This uses prospective memory to trigger lucidity once the dream state begins.

Wake Back To Bed (WBTB)

Set an alarm for 5 hours after you go to sleep. Stay awake for 20 minutes, focusing on your intent to lucid dream, then return to sleep. This places you directly into the REM cycle where dreams are most vivid.

Stabilizing the Dream

Once you become lucid, stay calm. To prevent waking up from excitement, rub your hands together or spin in circles within the dream. This engages your dream senses and anchors you in the subconscious landscape.
